We’re happy to announce the launch of a new peer-to-peer livestreaming tool called ATLive! The goal of ATLive is to provide a distributed vide/audio broadcast system to activists free from the conyraints and abuses of tools like Facebook Live, Periscope, Ustream, Livestream, and others. The project is based on the WebRTC protocol and open-source work by Muaz Kahn. This tool simply initializes socket.io and configures it in a way that single audio/video/screen stream can be shared/relayed over unlimited users without any bandwidth/CPU usage issues. Everything happens peer-to-peer! We will soon be adding local downloading so any viewer can easily download and share the stream to their local device…effectively eliminating the ability to fully censor or block a stream once it has begun. We’d appreciate any feedback from people using ATLive. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with any bugs, ideas, or comments.
